Embodied Data Sector Erupts: Nearly 100 Players Enter, Raising Over 4.47 Billion Yuan in One Year

Bot Telegraph, July 12 — The embodied AI data sector is rapidly emerging as a standalone industry. According to the latest statistics from QuantumBit, there are now 97 embodied data companies in China alone, spanning two main directions: data collection and data infrastructure.

Over the past year (July 2025 to July 2026), 15 independent embodied data service providers completed a total of 34 funding rounds, collectively raising approximately 4.47 billion yuan. Guanglun Intelligent (Light Wheel AI) stood out significantly, completing 6 rounds totaling 3.1 billion yuan within a single year, with its latest valuation exceeding $2 billion — making it the world’s first embodied data unicorn.

In terms of technical approaches, real-robot teleoperation collection is the most mainstream, with 22 companies exclusively pursuing this route. The no-physical-body collection route has 15 players, primarily young startups. Notably, 43% of data collection companies are pursuing multi-route strategies, reflecting that no single technical approach can yet meet all needs of robot training.

The industry’s current annual production capacity stands at 1.6 to 1.8 million hours of data, with a short-term goal of expanding capacity 15 to 20 times. However, the total global supply of high-quality real physical interaction data currently amounts to only about 500,000 hours — less than one twenty-thousandth of the training data used for large language models — highlighting a massive gap between data supply and demand.
