EagleEye Smart Wing Closes Third Round in Three Months; Bio-Inspired Flapping-Wing Robot Nears Mass Production
Bot Telegraph, July 12 — Embodied AI bio-inspired flapping-wing robotics company EagleEye Smart Wing (Yingkan Zhiyi) has completed a Series A funding round of tens of millions of yuan, led by Yuanhe PuHua with participation from Futeng Capital and Houxue Capital. This marks the company’s third financing round within just three months. Funds will primarily support mass production of its first consumer product and next-generation R&D.
Founded in Shenzhen in March 2025, EagleEye Smart Wing was founded by Chen Hao, a direct doctoral student in mechanical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with an all-post-2000 team. The company developed its proprietary robotic fluid simulation engine, Vortrix, which uses reinforcement learning to train robots to adjust flight posture across different airflow conditions in virtual environments, then transfers skills zero-shot to physical prototypes.
The first consumer product, Eagle X, has completed over 3,000 hours of flight testing and will launch on Kickstarter in Q3 2026. Unlike rotor drones, flapping-wing robots utilize fluid dynamics for flight, offering low noise, high safety, and biological compatibility — ideal for near-human scenarios. A second industrial-grade product features approximately 15 degrees of freedom, enabling active airflow sensing and utilization, achieving an upgrade from “passive assistance” to “active mastery.”
