Keenon Robotics Unveils Embodied Community at WAIC 2026, Featuring Fully Autonomous Humanoid Robots Without Remote Control

Bot Telegraph, July 22nd – The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference was held in Shanghai from July 17th to 20th. At this year’s exhibition, Keenon Robotics showcased its self-developed VLA architecture integrated with a world model, creating an “Embodied Community” covering scenarios such as supermarket retail, coffee kiosks, dessert shops, and hotel laundry rooms. All humanoid robots on-site achieved zero remote operation and fully autonomous execution.

On the exhibition stand, the XMAN series of general-purpose humanoid robots worked alongside specialized robots for delivery and cleaning in a “collaborative on-duty” setup. In the “Robot Café” jointly presented with Nowwa Coffee, the humanoid robot XMAN-R1, acting as a “specially appointed barista,” autonomously completed steps such as cup retrieval and coffee extraction. In the laundry room scenario, two humanoid robots, under a unified dispatch platform, autonomously collaborated to complete the entire process of washing and folding clothes. In the dessert shop, humanoid robots used a visual recognition system to precisely pick up M&M’s of target colors.

Li Tong, founder and CEO of Keenon Robotics, stated, “The essence of large-scale commercialization of humanoid robots lies in whether they can actually perform work.” Keenon has proposed the concept of “job specialization,” identifying specific points where processes can be broken down and results quantified, enabling robots to work continuously and produce stable output. According to a 2025 IDC report, Keenon’s global shipment volume continues to rank first in the industry, with over 100,000 robots operating globally in scenarios such as hotels, shopping malls, and restaurants.
