Institutions: Care and Emotional Needs Drive Growth, Companion Humanoid Robots Projected to Reach $1.1 Billion in Output Value by 2030

Bot Telegraph, July 25 – TrendForce’s latest robotics industry research report projects that the global output value of companion humanoid robots will reach $1.1 billion by 2030.

The report indicates that companion robots have evolved from early applications in elderly care and therapeutic design to encompassing lifelike interaction and emotional companionship. Recently, Chinese manufacturer UBTECH unveiled its ultra-bionic humanoid robot U1 series, marking the formal entry of such products into the era of lifelike realism.

TrendForce notes that the global demographic structure is rapidly shifting toward aging populations, declining birth rates, and a growing number of single-person households. This trend is fueling the rapid rise of the “companionship economy,” which has become the core driver of demand growth for companion humanoid robots.

Previously, UBTECH launched the U1 series of ultra-bionic robots on June 30, with pre-orders for the entire series already exceeding 13,000 units. The product lineup spans multiple price points, ranging from 119,800 yuan to 990,000 yuan.
