28th China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition National Finals Kick Off
Bot Telegraph, July 26 – The 28th National Finals of the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition commenced at Harbin Petroleum Institute on July 25. Hosted by the Organizing Committee of the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, organized by Harbin Petroleum Institute, and co-organized by Heilongjiang Jinxhi Incubator Co., Ltd., the event brought together 1,357 innovative students from 276 universities nationwide, including Tsinghua University and Harbin Institute of Technology, along the banks of the Songhua River. They competed in cutting-edge categories such as smart agriculture, intelligent driving, smart production line applications, drone air-ground coordination, all-terrain collaborative robots, brain-computer interface and emergency robots, and industrial control digital-intelligent systems.
This year’s competition closely aligns with major national strategies such as building a strong manufacturing nation, digital China, and innovative development in artificial intelligence. It deeply integrates with the “AI+” and “Robot+” industrial upgrade deployments, focusing on the core requirements of cultivating new quality productive forces. The event scientifically establishes four major thematic tracks: innovation, application, competition, and challenge. All competition categories are grounded in the development needs of the real economy, precisely addressing the pain points and difficulties of industrial transformation, achieving a deep integration of cutting-edge technological innovation and practical application implementation.
Tan Qingji, Secretary-General of the competition’s organizing committee, stated that the competition consistently adheres to the core orientation of “empowering the real economy through science and innovation, and serving development through competition.” It strengthens the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology with the real economy, guiding young students to focus on real industrial scenarios, tackle practical technical challenges, and hone their core abilities to solve complex engineering problems through practical competition.
At the finals, participating teams conducted comprehensive efforts in core areas such as artificial intelligence algorithm development, precision mechanical structure design, embedded intelligent control, and scenario-based technology implementation. Self-developed algorithms empowered intelligent unmanned vehicles with precise obstacle avoidance and autonomous cruising, achieving the practical implementation of intelligent driving technology. Humanoid robots accurately completed highly complex tasks, demonstrating breakthroughs in intelligent control technology. A batch of original innovative works focusing on smart agriculture, smart production lines, and emergency support were showcased, fully demonstrating the fruitful results of new engineering talent cultivation in China’s universities.
