China’s Robot Industry Chain Sees Surge in Orders, with Some Companies Receiving Over 10,000 Orders in a Single Month
Bot Telegraph, July 28th — With the successive release of semi-annual reports and performance forecasts from listed companies, the robotics industry has generally shown a positive performance trend in the first half of this year. From core components to complete machine integration, from motion control to AI computing hardware, the entire industrial chain is undergoing a substantial transformation from “concept-driven” to “order volume and profit realization.”
According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from January to May 2024, enterprises above designated size in China’s robotics industry achieved operating revenue exceeding 90 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.9%. Over the past five years, the industry’s average annual compound growth rate has consistently remained above 20%, demonstrating robust growth momentum.
Specific performance within the industry confirms this trend. A listed company just launched a new generation of humanoid robots at the end of last month. The market responded quickly, and within less than a month of the product launch, it had already received over 10,000 orders. This indicates that market demand is rapidly materializing.
The head of another company revealed that the frameless motors, which the company primarily produces as core components for humanoid robot joint drives, have already secured over 1 million orders in hand for the first half of this year, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 9 times. This data strongly reflects the robust demand from the downstream market.
Currently, the outstanding performance of the robotics sector is mainly attributed to the close integration of technological progress and market demand. The industry has gradually moved away from early pure concept speculation and entered a new cycle of healthy development driven by actual orders and profit growth.
