Zhejiang Accelerates Multi-Scenario Applications for Humanoid Robots

At the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, multiple humanoid robots named NAVIAI are performing various tasks, including sorting parcels, applying coatings on circuit boards, and ironing clothes. The company, officially known as Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd., has been established for over two years. Its research and development focus is on world models and embodied intelligence, aiming to create humanoid robots that can be practically applied in multiple scenarios. Chief Scientist Xiong Rong stated that the team has provided a toolchain covering data processing, model training, and robot operation and maintenance development, intended to accelerate industry development. She pointed out that while current humanoid robots can perform dynamic demonstrations, the key to entering the manufacturing industry lies in enhancing the adaptability, precision, and reliability of operations. In terms of technical approach, Xiong Rong elaborated on the top-level design of “large and small brain” collaboration. Here, the “large brain” aims to adapt to complex environments, generate behaviors by understanding semantics, and autonomously explore and correct errors when encountering obstacles. The “small brain” is responsible for aligning language, vision, and actions, using expert models to endow robots with human-like generalization capabilities rather than simple data mapping. Currently, the company’s products have been applied in various fields such as garment manufacturing, logistics handling, automotive assembly, and supermarket retail. The company is further advancing the industrialization process by leveraging the industrial chain ecosystem in Ningbo.
