Unitree IPO Sparks Robot Sector Frenzy, 16 ETFs Approach 60 Billion Yuan in Total Assets

Bot Telegraph August 20th report, on the eve of Unitree Robotics’ listing on the STAR Market, the robotics sector showed a collective strengthening trend. On August 18th, the last trading day before Unitree Robotics’ listing, multiple stocks hit the daily limit, driving the robotics ETFs managed by fund companies such as Huaan, Dacheng, Guangfa, Fuguo, Penghua, E Fund, and Invesco Great Wall to rise, with gains exceeding 2%, ranking among the top in the day’s ETF performance rankings. Market data shows that the number of robotics ETFs has expanded to 16, forming two major index camps: “CSI” and “CNI,” with products from China Asset Management and E Fund accounting for over 60% of the total scale.

In terms of index performance, the Wind Robotics Concept Index closed up 0.73% on the day, continuing to hit a new high since August, with a cumulative gain of 12.14% for the month, almost fully recovering the 12.78% decline in July. During the same period, the CNI Robotics Industry Index rose by 11.97%, and the CSI Robotics Index increased by 8.62%.

The market enthusiasm is closely related to Unitree Robotics’ upcoming listing and its product progress. On August 17th, Unitree Robotics unveiled its new humanoid robot “Super.” The robot can jump vertically to a height of 2 meters and achieve a maximum running speed of 12.66 meters per second, both surpassing human records. It is reported that “Super” has a leg length of 0.85 meters, and the entire development cycle took only over three months, currently still in the technical verification stage. On August 19th, Unitree Robotics officially listed on the STAR Market, with its IPO subscription setting a record. Analysts believe that Unitree’s listing will provide a clear valuation reference for domestic robot manufacturers and may drive a revaluation of the entire industry chain.

Additionally, other catalytic factors in the industry chain are also resonating. In terms of mass production, Tesla’s Optimus robot is expected to start mass production by the end of the year, with its Fremont factory already transitioning from automotive production lines to robot production lines. Industry insiders point out that listed companies with overseas production capacity and having passed Tesla’s automotive-grade supply chain verification are expected to move from the small-batch sampling stage to a period of performance realization brought by large-scale mass production.
