3Srobotics Raises Hundreds of Millions in Series B for Self-Developed Welding Embodied AI Brain Model

Bot Telegraph, July 11 — Industrial manufacturing-focused embodied intelligent robotics company 3Srobotics (Shengshi Weisheng) has announced the completion of a Series B funding round amounting to hundreds of millions of yuan. The round was led by Shanghai Semiconductor Industry Investment and Jinqiao Fund, with participation from 01VC, Xinding Capital, Zhongguan Dinghua, and continued investment from existing shareholder Weiguang Ventures. Funds will support iterative upgrades to its welding embodied AI brain and autonomous cerebellar motion control system, expansion of its smart manufacturing factory capacity, and accelerated nationwide product deployment.

Founded in 2020, 3Srobotics obtained National High-Tech Enterprise certification in 2023 and was recognized as a Shanghai “Specialized, Refined, Differentiated, and Innovative” (SRDI) SME in 2024. The company focuses on the deep integration of AI algorithms with robotic hardware, selecting welding as its core entry point. China currently has approximately 10 million registered welders with an average age above 45, facing a shortage of millions of welding engineers.

The company has independently developed a welding-specific embodied AI brain model, trained entirely on real industrial working conditions. The technical team fed the AI algorithm with tens of millions of production-line welding data entries, a comprehensive material and process knowledge base, and complex irregular weld seam datasets — enabling the system to recognize workpiece spatial structures, materials, and textures, and autonomously generate welding process plans. It adapts to steel structures, construction machinery, shipbuilding, rail transit, and automotive components.

The company’s proprietary autonomous cerebellum — its real-time motion control system — builds on the accumulated expertise of its subsidiary Hagong Xiandai in industrial robot bodies. Facing extreme complex conditions such as irregular curved surfaces, oversized components, and confined spaces, the system performs real-time trajectory correction and dynamic error compensation, ensuring consistent and stable weld seam formation.

Currently, a single 3Srobotics welding robot can replace 1.5 to 2 welders per unit time, with an ROI period of approximately 1 to 1.5 years. The company is also exploring a robot-as-a-service business model billed by welding distance, achieving 2.88x daily efficiency improvement over human welders at an average cost reduction of 32.5%. The 2026 revenue target is in the hundreds of millions of yuan.
