Yuequan Bionics Secures Hundreds of Millions in Pre-A+ Funding, with Over 100 Million Orders for Mass-Produced Bionic Dexterous Hands

Bot Telegraph July 21st – Bionic robotics company Yuequan Bionics recently announced the completion of a Pre-A+ funding round worth several hundred million yuan. This round was jointly invested by Changfa Fund, Huakong Fund, Huaxia Fund, Guoli Minsheng, and Xingke Chuangtou Fund, with continued follow-up investment from existing shareholder Zhongguancun Qihang Investment.

Founded in November 2022, Yuequan Bionics was co-founded by Ren Luquan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ren Lei, a tenured professor at the University of Manchester, UK. The core team comprises 51% researchers from the post-90s and post-00s generations. The company has achieved the transformation of scientific research results based on Professor Ren Lei’s internationally pioneering “Bionic Tension-Compression Robot Theory and Technology.” This technology mimics the synergistic working logic of human bones, muscles, and ligaments, fundamentally disrupting traditional rigid hinge-based designs from a theoretical foundation.

At the product level, Yuequan Bionics has established two core product lines: bionic dexterous hands and humanoid robots. In the bionic dexterous hand category, its Y-Hand M2 features 38 degrees of freedom, making it currently the bionic dexterous hand with the highest number of degrees of freedom globally. The Y-Hand M1 palm weighs only 299.7 grams, integrates 26 degrees of freedom, and achieves a five-finger gripping force of 200N. Regarding humanoid robot systems, the company has launched the full-sized bipedal humanoid robot “X-Bot” (with 51 degrees of freedom throughout the body) and the wheeled humanoid robot “W-Bot.”

On the commercialization front, Yuequan Bionics has accumulated orders exceeding 100 million yuan, with its products widely applied in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, inspection and operation & maintenance, warehousing and logistics, healthcare, domestic services and elderly care, and special operations. It is reported that the funds raised in this round will be used for team building, core product technology research and development, and production capacity enhancement, to advance the research and development of super-bionic neuromuscular skeletal robots and build an integrated “brain-body-environment” bionic embodied intelligence system.

The humanoid robot track has currently passed the prototype demonstration stage and is gradually entering a critical inflection point for commercial implementation. As the core component for robot interaction with the real world, dexterous hands have become a key focus for capital investment. In the first quarter of this year alone, the total financing for domestic dexterous hand companies approached 5 billion yuan. Companies possessing original bionic underlying technologies and achieving full-chain self-research in both hardware and software may become the core driving force for the next stage of industry development.
