China’s Service Robot Production Reaches 18.581 Million Units in 2025, Up 16.1% Year-on-Year

Bot Telegraph July 26th report: The Cyberspace Administration of China released the “National Informatization Development Report (2025).” In 2025, the scale of China’s core digital economy industries continued to expand. The report shows that in 2025, the added value of China’s core digital economy industries accounted for over 10.5% of GDP, with digital industry revenue reaching 39.6 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%, effectively supporting stable economic growth. The software industry performed well, with business revenue reaching 15.48 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%. Emerging industries flourished, with the accelerated promotion and application of AI terminals such as AI phones, AI computers, and AI glasses. The production of service robots reached 18.581 million units, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%. By the end of 2025, the number of agricultural drones exceeded 300,000, with an annual operating area surpassing 460 million mu. The penetration rate of digital R&D and design tools in key industrial enterprises and the numerical control rate of key processes reached 85.5% and 68.6%, respectively. The digital development of the service industry improved in quality and efficiency. In 2025, the scale of digital consumption by Chinese residents reached 25.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%. E-commerce, live-streaming sales, online entertainment, and other sectors drove rapid growth in online consumption, with digital products becoming a highlight of commodity consumption. In 2025, the national online retail sales reached 15.97 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%.
