Foshan Shunde Establishes China’s First Embodied Intelligence Development Bureau

Bot Telegraph, July 28 – According to the WeChat official account “Shunde Release,” the Shunde District Embodied Intelligence Development Bureau in Foshan City was officially unveiled on July 28. This marks the nation’s first government functional bureau specifically dedicated to coordinating the development of the entire embodied intelligence industry chain, signifying Shunde’s pioneering step in institutional and mechanism innovation in the integration of intelligent robotics, artificial intelligence, and the real economy. The report states that Shunde is the largest industrial robot production base in China, housing a national-level characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises in the robotics category recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. By 2025, the district’s robotics industry output value is projected to reach nearly 40 billion yuan, with over 100 upstream and downstream enterprises in the robotics sector, forming a complete industrial chain covering components, complete machines, and system integration. Local leading companies such as Midea KUKA and Jiateng continue to grow, while tech-innovation enterprises like Orbbec and Yinxing Intelligence have successively established operations. Eighty percent of the district’s above-designated-size manufacturing enterprises have completed digital transformation, with rich application scenarios in factory production lines, smart home systems, and urban operations management, making it a natural testing ground for humanoid robots. As a trillion-yuan industrial district, Shunde has established a dedicated functional institution based on its two major industrial clusters in home appliances and equipment, each valued at 400 billion yuan, to build a comprehensive industry coordination system. This move supports the implementation of Foshan’s “three-pronged” industrial strategy and strengthens the local “6+9+X” advanced manufacturing system.
