China’s Commerce Ministry Condemns US FCC’s Inclusion of Advanced Robotics Equipment in ‘Covered List,’ Vows Retaliation

Bot Telegraph, July 30 – The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced that it will add foreign-manufactured power inverters and advanced robotics equipment to its “Covered List.” This means that new models of these products will be unable to obtain certification from the Commission, effectively barring them from sale in the U.S. market. The move has drawn significant attention from China. In response, China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that while the U.S. claims its actions are “non-discriminatory,” they are in fact discriminatory measures targeting Chinese enterprises. The FCC has taken similar actions before, having previously imposed restrictions on Chinese goods. Over a period of time, the U.S. has disregarded China’s repeated representations and restraint, continuously escalating restrictive measures. The Ministry of Commerce emphasized that power inverters and robotics are normal international commodities, and all parties could have achieved mutual benefits through trade. The U.S. is overgeneralizing the concept of national security, using administrative power to forcibly interfere with normal business dealings between enterprises, and persistently pushing for “decoupling and severing supply chains.” Such actions not only harm China’s interests but also undermine the stability of China-U.S. economic and trade relations and the security of global industrial and supply chains. China firmly opposes such market-distorting and unilateral bullying behaviors and solemnly demands that the U.S. immediately revoke the relevant measures. If the U.S. insists on continuing its erroneous actions, China will take resolute countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
