RoboSense Launches Second-Generation Solid-State Sensing Platform E2 as Physical AI Data Gateway
Bot Telegraph, July 21 – During the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026), RoboSense officially launched its second-generation fully solid-state perception platform, E2, based on its self-developed “Peacock” SPAD-SoC chip. This launch comprehensively showcased the company’s complete technological layout, spanning from underlying chips to spatial perception products.
Currently, the embodied intelligence sector is transitioning from stage demonstrations to long-term, stable operations in real-world scenarios. However, most foundational models are trained solely on 2D images and simulation data, lacking native high-precision information about object distance, material properties, forces, and dynamic interactions in real 3D spaces. This results in robots that can “see” images but struggle to truly understand the physical world. Pure visual sensors are susceptible to interference from strong light, occlusion, rain, and snow, and the significant gap between simulated environments and real-world conditions makes it consistently difficult to improve the success rate of complex tasks once robots leave exhibition halls.
RoboSense offers a different perspective: high-precision 3D perception hardware is not merely the “eyes” that allow robots to “see” the world; it is an indispensable data source for the operation of physical AI. To establish a complete closed loop of “perception-understanding-decision-iteration,” it is essential to reconstruct the logic of spatial data generation from the underlying chip level.
The E2 platform is built upon the self-developed ultra-large-area SPAD-SoC “Peacock” chip and a 2D VCSEL chip, employing a fully solid-state architecture where signal transmission/reception and data processing are completed at the chip level. Compared to the previous generation, the E2 series features a wider field of view, with maximum precision three times that of its predecessor. Currently, E2 has been deployed in products such as lawn-mowing robots, humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and drones, and has secured cooperation orders from companies in the yard robotics, smart hardware, and consumer electronics sectors.
During WAIC, RoboSense also announced collaborations with companies such as ZhiZai WuJie, JianZhi Robotics, Origen, and GuangLun Intelligence. These partnerships focus on areas including robot spatial perception, real-world data collection, data processing, model training, and application verification, aiming to build a perception infrastructure for physical AI. Targeting the large-scale application of embodied intelligence, RoboSense is building a robotics technology platform for the era of physical AI, centered around three core capabilities: self-developed chips, AI data closed loops, and automotive-grade mass production.
